Threshold (2025-)

This series of paintings explores the fragile encounter between artificial and organic life: between what is built and what is born. Images hover at the edge of narrative, inviting the viewer to imagine what has just happened, or what might happen next. The machine may appear to comfort, to guard, to hesitate—or simply to hold. The organic may reciprocate, trust, withdraw. Each painting is a suspended moment: a holding pattern, a threshold between worlds.

These works are deliberately ambivalent. They do not offer comfort or warning. Instead, they linger in the uncertain space where new forms of empathy might emerge—or might not. They ask: Can something artificial cradle what is real? What, if anything, must be sacrificed to cross a threshold?
